Your summer just got a whole lot sweeter!

The Newest Costco Dessert Is a Must for Your Next Barbecue

There are two kinds of people in the world: those who make lists for their next Costco run and those who head to the store and let Costco tell them what they need. The store is so much more than just a place to buy groceries and household items in bulk quantities at great prices—it’s a treasure trove of new products and deals to discover. Planning your next Costco trip can be as fun as shopping the aisles. After all, there’s so much to look forward to. The free samples! The seasonal items! The food court! What’s not to love?!
While there are seemingly endless reasons to delight in shopping at Costco, the store’s bakery section may very well be at the top of the list. But when there’s a new bakery item to try? It’s quite possibly the most exciting news a Costco shopper could hear. And guess what? Costco’s bakery section just released a new treat that has shoppers raving and snapping it up for their backyard barbecues.

What’s the new bakery item at Costco?
Fresh out of the oven and onto the shelves of Costco’s bakery section are … Kirkland Marshmallow Crispy Cookies! The cookies are unique, which is one of the reasons fans are loving them so much. They’re part sugar cookie, part Rice Krispies treat, a little bit chewy and little bit crunchy, and jam-packed with gooey marshmallows. What’s not to love?
The cookies are sold in a pack of 24, and one cookie contains 210 calories. The price varies from one location to the next: Some people have reported paying $10 per pack, while others have seen them priced at just over $11.
Are these Costco cookies new?
It’s not every day that Costco debuts a totally new bakery item, so the fact that these Marshmallow Crispy Cookies are brand-new to Costco shelves is a big deal! Sometimes, Costco brings back seasonal treats for a limited time or reinvents versions of fan favorites, but the Marshmallow Crispy Cookies are making their Costco bakery debut!
What are fans saying about the cookies?
Costco’s Marshmallow Crispy Cookies have fans racing to the store to buy two and even three packages at a time—they’re that good. Laura Jayne Lamb, who’s behind the @Costcohotfinds account on Instagram, was one of the first to break the news about the item. Fans raced to the comments on her Instagram post to join in the excitement. “I could eat the entire container,” wrote one user.
Redditors were quick to comment on the latest Costco bakery development too. “The texture is really good, crunchy outside with a chewy, gooey middle … I’m so mad at Costco for making something so delicious that I might need to buy another box before the weekend … I shouldn’t but these are just too good. I really hope that they stick around,” wrote one.
“Mt. Rushmore status. Straight into the top 4 best cookies of my life,” proclaimed another. “If I were to toast them just a bit—hot air fryer or perhaps kitchen torch—they may be the #1 contender. And indeed, I’ve consumed more than my share of cookies in 48+ years.”
Yet another fan of the cookies offered up an interesting suggestion to the Costco powers-that-be. “Fresh and still hot, these are outrageous. Costco should offer these fresh in the food court, and take away the overly sweet chocolate chip abominations.”
It sounds like these cookies are living up to the hype of all of their crispy, marshmallowy goodness!
How long will these Costco cookies be available?
As is often the case with new Costco bakery items, there’s no official word on how long the new Marshmallow Crispy Cookies will be available. So far, shoppers have spotted them in stores across the country, but they don’t seem to be at every location just yet. Chances are, though, they’ll be in a store near you soon if they aren’t already. But as for how long, no one can say for sure. Your best bet is to grab your keys and your Costco membership card and head to your nearest Costco ASAP—and definitely before your next backyard barbecue.
