Are they as good as you remember?

It’s Official! McDonald’s Snack Wraps Have Finally Made Their Tasty Return

If you’re a die-hard McDonald’s fan, you’re always watching for the next big thing, from crispy fries to Big Macs to Happy Meals. But there’s one item, in particular, that you may have been waiting for some good news about: the legendary Snack Wrap.
First launched in the mid-2000s, the Snack Wrap quickly became a fan favorite before it was discontinued in 2016, due to its long preparation time and slow sales decline. Since then, Snack Wrap aficionados have been begging for its return—and now their wish has been granted!
In a surprise announcement on Good Morning America in December, McDonald’s USA president Joe Berlinger confirmed the Snack Wrap would be back on the menu in 2025, but left everyone hanging without an actual date. Well, we’re happy to say they’re finally back, and McDonald’s lovers have been rushing to their local Mickey D’s to see if they can get their hands on one.
So is anything different about the new Snack Wrap? And are they here for good or for a limited time only? Keep reading—we’ve got all the (delicious) details below.

What is the Snack Wrap?
If you’re not familiar with this wrap, you are in for a treat! The McDonald’s Snack Wrap is a tasty, handheld sandwich featuring a warm flour tortilla wrapped around a crispy chicken strip, with shredded cheese and your choice of spicy or classic seasoning. Whether you’re craving a little heat or want to keep things mild, it’s a quick, satisfying bite that hits the spot.
Has anything changed about the Snack Wrap?
Yes. While the McDonald’s Snack Wrap retains the essence of the original, it got an upgrade for its 2025 rerelease—specifically, it includes McCrispy Strips instead of the classic Chicken Selects.
Plus, the original Snack Wrap came with either ranch or honey mustard sauce, and some locations offered even more options like salsa roja or chipotle BBQ. This time around, there are just two delicious flavor options: spicy, with a bold kick of heat, and ranch, loaded with garlicky, oniony goodness.
What are fans saying?
The long-awaited return of McDonald’s Snack Wraps on July 10 stirred up major buzz online—but for many fans, the comeback has fallen flat. “The old Snack Wraps were WAYYYYYY better,” said TikTok user @mel. “The new ones taste like the ones I try to recreate at home.”
The main complaint seems to be that the original Chicken Selects have been replaced by McCrispy Strips, which just don’t hit the same. “This is going to sound crazy, but I literally remember the last time I had a Snack Wrap,” one Reddit user wrote. “I had one today and it wasn’t the same—very rubbery and sad.” Another added, “It tastes nothing like the old one. I took a bite and the chicken wasn’t crispy at all—just this weird rubbery mess. The lettuce was sad and soggy. Like … who said this was good??”
Still, not everyone is writing off the new version. Some fans are finding ways to make it work—with a little customization. “I had one today to try it, even though I saw bad reviews here,” one Reddit user posted. “Mine looked almost like this and was good. The breading taste was different, but honestly, I just added pickles and I’d eat several of these.”
The bottom line? Those who never tried the Snack Wrap back in the day might actually like it. But for those seeking the nostalgic taste of the old Snack Wrap, this return isn’t what they were hoping for.
How much do Snack Wraps cost?
The Snack Wrap rings in at $2.99, though prices may vary by state. Check your app or local McDonald’s for the price in your area.
How long will Snack Wraps be available?
Forever! The Snack Wrap is now a permanent menu item. It’s joining another returning favorite—McDonald’s bagels, which came back for good on Feb. 15, 2025. This is different than something like the blueberry & crème pie, which is available only for a limited time this summer.
Is McDonald’s thinking of bringing back any other fan favorites?
While McDonald’s hasn’t revealed any other fan-favorite comebacks just yet, the chain is making it clear that they’re listening. “We listen to our fans, and the Snack Wrap’s return is a testament to that,” McDonald’s U.S. President Joe Erlinger told the Associated Press.
In the meantime, McDonaald’s is keeping things exciting with limited-time treats like the Hershey’s S’mores McFlurry, available through Aug. 11, and the Daily Double burger, once a regional secret but now nationwide and part of the McValue Meal Deal through the end of 2025.
