The best vacation rentals in the U.S.

Once upon a time, taking a vacation meant staying at a hotel, motel or resort. How were the top 10 Vrbo vacation rentals chosen?

For its fourth-annual list, Vrbo had the massive task of selecting 10 winners from the more than 2 million properties listed on its app. The process of choosing the top listings was based on four key criteria:

  • Guest ratings: Listings needed an average rating of 9.8 or higher and excellent reviews from previous guests.
  • Premier Host status: The properties had to be managed by top-tier hosts with great track records.
  • Multiple bedrooms: Homes had to have enough space to accommodate families and groups, with at least three bedrooms each.
  • Luxe amenities: We’re talking things like private pools, hot tubs and fire pits, as well as unique features specific to each property and location.

And now it’s time to get to the good stuff—the Vrbo rentals that are so amazing, you’ll be daydreaming about them for months. Keep reading to find out which homes made the cut and which vacation destinations should be at the top of your list in 2025, if only for the incredible accommodations.
